Taking Care of Yourself

I paid a visit to the Ophthalmologist recently. It was just one of the many doctors I have frequented throughout my life. He asked me when the last time was I had had other check ups. In my mind I had been thinking perhaps last year. In reality it was several years ago. Between a pandemic closing everything down, spells of severe depression and the general busy existence that is modern life it had all been allowed to slip by the wayside. I am one of the first to say to others, you need to keep your health in check. Sat there in the doctor’s office I felt quite the hypocrite. My advice is still sound though. Keeping a check on our health is of the utmost importance. Without a healthy body and mind what use is anything else. Most of us work hard to provide a good life for ourselves and our loved ones. You need to be in your best shape to enjoy it.

As TS women we are given a list of specialists to visit given some of the health complications that can arise. Cardiologists seem to be one of the most important ones. It can seem like a real drag, maybe even upsetting some days. It is for the greater good. Turner’s Syndrome does not define us. It does not stop us from achieving. All I would advise is keep a check on your health so that you can enjoy those achievements in the best way possible. This is sound advice not just for TS women but for everyone in general.
